The World Forum of the Nicaraguan Diaspora (WFND) is organized by a broad group of independent non-partisan organizations. Our mission is to unify the Nicaraguan diaspora around two common goals. In Nicaragua, we wish to help restore the rule of law, rebuild democratic institutions, and foster inclusive growth. Globally, we work to help increase the diaspora’s participation in social, economic and political spheres of the communities in which we live and work.
On September 14th and 15th, we will host a world forum to unite the Nicaraguan diaspora at Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Working groups will focus on reversing the last twelve years of human rights violations, corruption, and authoritarianism in order to create an environment upon which Nicaragua can rebuild itself around justice, inclusive growth and rule of law.
We welcome opportunities to present our work to journalists. Our team has authored opinion pieces and essays for Foreign Policy, MSNBC, and various periodicals in the Americas as well as interviews with CNN, and podcasts for other think tanks.
